NEW KITTEN QUESTIONS

WE KNOW YOU'VE
GOT LOADS.

That's literally what we're here for. Here are the ones we get most often.

Kittens in the UK need two rounds of core vaccinations — at 8–9 weeks and 11–12 weeks. This covers cat flu (calicivirus and herpesvirus), feline infectious enteritis, and feline leukaemia virus (FeLV). Microchipping is done at the second appointment. Annual boosters are required after that to maintain immunity. All included in your Snoots membership.
Microchipping is a legal requirement for cats in the UK from June 2024. Kittens should be microchipped as soon as possible after coming home. Your Snoots vet will do this at one of their early visits — included as standard.
Cats can be neutered from around 4 months of age. Early neutering is generally recommended to prevent unwanted litters and reduce certain health risks. Your Snoots vet will advise on timing at an early visit. The procedure is included in your membership.
This depends on your environment, lifestyle, and the kitten's breed and temperament. Your Snoots vet will discuss the health implications of each — including vaccination needs, neutering timing, and parasite prevention — at your first visit.
In the first year, most kittens have two scheduled vaccine appointments plus additional check-ins. With Snoots, there's no extra cost for any visit — so if something seems off, just book. Book online or via WhatsApp.
A full kitten vaccination course in London typically costs £80–£150 for the primary course, plus annual booster fees. With Snoots, the entire vaccination schedule is included in the £30/month membership — every year.
Yes — kittens should start flea and worm prevention early. Your Snoots vet will recommend the right products for their age and lifestyle. Prescription treatments are available through our in-clinic pharmacy at reduced prices.
