WHAT SENIOR PET OWNERS SAY

Our lab is 11. We were spending £150 every few weeks — blood tests, check-ups, the lot. Since joining Snoots we just come in whenever we need to. It's made such a difference.

Snoots caught our cat's kidney disease early because we could afford to do blood tests every few months. At our old vet we'd have waited until things got bad. I genuinely think it saved her life.

Luna

Cat · 14 years old

G

Our spaniel has arthritis and needs regular check-ins. With Snoots we just book whenever — no dreading the bill at the end. The vets are brilliant with her.

SENIOR PET QUESTIONS

Most vets recommend senior dogs (aged 7+ for large breeds, 8+ for small breeds) and senior cats (aged 10+) visit the vet every 6 months rather than annually. Regular check-ups allow earlier detection of age-related conditions like arthritis, kidney disease, heart disease, hyperthyroidism (in cats) and dental disease. With Snoots, 6-monthly or more frequent visits are included at no extra charge.
Senior dogs and cats benefit from regular blood panels to check kidney and liver function, thyroid levels and blood cell counts; dental examinations and cleaning; joint assessments for arthritis; weight monitoring; blood pressure checks; and urinalysis. Cats especially benefit from thyroid testing from age 10. All of these are included in every Snoots membership.
For most senior pet owners, yes — significantly so. Senior pets typically cost £1,000–£2,000+ per year in vet bills when paying per visit. Snoots membership costs £396/year and covers unlimited visits, all diagnostics, dental care and more. The older and more health-intensive your pet is, the more value Snoots provides.
For dogs, 'senior' typically begins at 7–8 years for large and giant breeds, and 10+ years for small breeds. For cats, the senior stage generally begins around 10–11 years. Your Snoots vet will tailor the care and monitoring schedule to your individual pet's age, breed and health history.
Yes. Snoots provides primary and diagnostic care for all conditions, including ongoing management of chronic age-related conditions such as arthritis, kidney disease, diabetes, hyperthyroidism and dental disease. Your vet can see your pet when needed. For conditions requiring specialist input, your Snoots vet will coordinate a referral — specialist fees are not included.
Yes. There is no upper age limit for joining Snoots — whether you have an older dog or cat. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old. We welcome senior dogs and cats — they're exactly who this membership is built for.
